Dated last weeks pay using this weeks date

For example, last weeks pay period end date was 10 April, but used 17th April by mistake.

There are two options here:

Roll back and redo last weeks pay

Rolling back to the last pay and processing it again is the tidiest option. This rolls everything back to just before the last time you clicked "Update Totals" - anything you have done since will be cleared - including any changes to employee records, notes etc.

After rolling back, you will change the date for last weeks payrun to the correct date, and then you may need to re-enter the hours worked and any leave taken for your employees.

Instructions:

  1. From the top menu in Payroll Pro, select "Utilities"
  2. From the drop down menu, select "Undo Update Totals"
  3. Read all messages carefully, then tick all three boxes and click "Roll Back Now"
  4. Go to "Change Date". You will receive a warning message saying that one or more employees are set to be paid. Answer YES so
that you can change the date, then reconfirm if asked again.
  5. Enter in the correct dates and click OK.
  6. You will receive another warning - Answer YES.
  7. Payroll Pro will then tell you the employees who were set to be paid - click NO so that you do not have this message appear for each employee.
  8. Now go to "Enter Current Pay" and enter in the hours and any leave for the employees, and set them to be paid in the normal way.
When you go to the TimeSheet you may receive another warning because you had previously entered information for the wrong date.
This is ok - just answer YES to continue.
  9. Once all employees pays have been entered, continue the pay run in the normal way - print payslips and update totals.

Use another date for this pay

If you do not want to enter the last weeks pay again, you could enter a Period End Date and Payment Date one day after.

For example, this is meant to be Pay Period End Date 17th April, and Payment Date 18th April, but these were used last week by mistake. Make this weeks Pay Period End Date the 18th April, and this weeks Payment Date the 19th April.

This is not ideal in many cases especially if you have all the days listed on the payslip and enter hours on a day by day basis, but is an option if it is not possible to go back to last week.
