Unable to gain control of RAVE Data Communication System
While trying to print a report, are you getting the following warning message?
This most likely has happened if you forgot to close the previous report. But it is easily fixed, and will not have caused any problems, since it is only creating a report and not updating any of your data.
Here's a simple solution:
- If you see a " Cancel " button click it - but DO NOT click " Retry " - otherwise you will just get the warning message again.
- Next, find the R icon on your task bar and left click it (using the LEFT HAND SIDE button of your mouse). The icon looks like the one shown in the image below - a blue R in a white box. The red arrow is pointing to it:
- You might now see either a small thumbnail picture of the reports, or the previous report on the full screen.
- a) If a thumbnail shows, left click it once and it will show fullscreen. The thumbnail(s) might look something like this:
Even if a white or red x appears on the thumbnail, Windows may not let you close the window unless you open it first (by left clicking to get a full screen).
Then when it is full screen you can click the x to close it.
b) Or, if the report has been minimised you might see it down near the bottom of your screen, where you can click the x to close it. It might look like this:
c) In any case, when a report is showing fullscreen you can close it with the x at the top right. - If any more report icons are showing, repeat the process from step 1.
- After this, please exit all programs including Payroll Pro, then restart Payroll Pro and all should now be ok. But if problems still occur, exit all programs again, and restart your computer. Then when the computer restarts, everything should be fine.
